WHAT IS THE PROCESS?! ...
~ What to expect ~
This is what the process looks like from first inquiry to Gothcha Day ...
1. INQUIRE - Please email, call, or text anytime. I check my voicemails last.
2. RESPONSE TIME - I often respond quickly even within minutes, but please give
24 hours for a reply.
3. PHONE CALL - I require an initial phone call prior to taking any deposit or
placing a family on a waitlist. During this call I like to learn more about you and your
puppy quest while sharing more details about our puppy practices. I will answer all
of your questions and generously share lots of helpful need-to-know cavapoo info!
4. DEPOSIT - I ask a $200 deposit through either Venmo or credit card over the
phone. This applies to the price and can be transferred as needed to any other
available waitlist or puppy. * Non-refundable if removing altogether on your own.
5. PROFILE FORM - Unlike an application, this is a step I ask you to do after
taking a deposit. A few questions and answers to fill in key details about your
preferences so I have a record I can refer to. ( IMPLEMENTING SOON )
6. PREPARING FOR PUPPY - Once I have a deposit and necessary contact
information, I will send you Welcome emails and texts chocked full of helpful
information to help you prepare for bringing your puppy home... Lots of convenient and
fun stuff!
7. WAITLISTS - I will carefully decide which waitlist or multiple waitlists to place
you on. When Momma dog gets pregnant I will be able to give you a Due date and also
an approximate Go Home date as well.
8. UPDATES - I will provide updates via group texts periodically starting at the
birth, then at intervals: 1.5 weeks, 3 weeks, 5 weeks, and 6 weeks old. Between 5 - 7
weeks is when I am actively engaging all families helping choose the right puppy. I
use Live Zooms to entertain long distant "visits".
9. CHOOSING PUPPY - Between 5 - 7 weeks is the time period when visits are
welcome. The families at the top of a waitlist either 1st, 2nd or 3rd spots, are kindly
asked to plan their visit earlier than later as courtesy to others on the list. Zooms are
a great way to visit the puppies remotely for those who can't travel. I actively engage
all families on the list during this time until official pick date right at week 7. I am
always amazed at this process and often feel like I am in the back seat watching
things come together as if providence plays the primary role despite my efforts.
10. GOTCHA DAY - Typically 8 - 8.5 weeks old is the go home time for most puppies
if weighing at least 3 lbs. I am happy to meet you one hour out to save travel time if
you live two or more hours away from my home.
11. TRANSITION HOME - I am happy to assist you in the immediate transition
days, so feel free to contact me for advice or help. Of course I am always available into
the future as well for anything really at anytime. I will always care for the wellbeing of
the puppies I raise and love to receive updates and pictures as they grow!
During the phone call I will ask about your preferences for :
TIMING - When is the earliest you want to bring your new puppy home? How flexible
are you with timing or are you willing to wait?
GENDER - Female, Male, or either ( females notably become more emotionally
attached to one human in the family, whereas males more equally with everyone )
SIZE - Mini ( 9 lbs - 13 lbs) , Medium ( 14 - 17 lbs) , Large ( 18 - 25 lbs )
TYPE OF CAVAPOO -
F1 - 1st generation ( 50%/50%)
F2 - 2nd generation ( 50%/50%)
F1B - 1st generation breed back to poodle ( 25%/75% )
ALLERGY CONCERNS - Does anyone have a known diagnosed Clinical allergy to dogs?
FAMILY - Size, children's ages
WORK LIFE - Who is home with puppy?
PET HISTORY / DOG EXPERIENCE - I totally welcome first time dog owners!
